Zoe Lahdelma-Sanderson and Meredith DePole attend “Hint of High Li” eight-day leadership development program.

This past July, two of our Cavs, Rising Juniors Zoe Lahdelma-Sanderson and Meredith DePole, engaged in a “Hint of High Li.” Normally an eight-day leadership development program run by the Archdiocese of Baltimore, High Li stands for High School Leadership Institute, where everything happens through the lens of our Catholic faith. The program seeks to empower young people to grow in holiness, understand themselves as missionary disciples, and actively share the Gospel.

Despite the cancellation of the in-person experience, our sponsored Cavs remained committed as they acted on the opportunity to participate in the AOB’s modified virtual program.  Meredith and Zoe are attended workshops about how to proclaim scripture, how to plan and facilitate prayer, how to design and implement small groups and structure prayer services, all the while receiving feedback from peer ministers and past participants.

The mid-week presentation at High-Li has focused on what it means to be a Witness for Christ whereby our students have been guided through a reflective process to discern the important ‘God moments’ in their lives. Spalding is incredibly blessed to see our students continuing to grow within innovative communities of faith. We affirm these two Cavs for their heartfelt initiative as they mature in faith, service and leadership.
