Archbishop Spalding High School proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2017. We also completed a strategic goal: the renovation of the school’s 1966 auditorium into a state-of-the art Performing Arts Theater that will strengthen and expand both academic and extracurricular programming.
We now find ourselves at a critical juncture. Do we stand still or do we ask the bold question- what is next? Our world is defined by constant change and Archbishop Spalding cannot afford to think that what we have done is enough to secure our future.
Since late summer 2017, the school has engaged stakeholders and posed the “what next” question. Over 800 friends shared their perspectives that informed and shaped the Board of Directors’ decision to embark on a multi-phase capital campaign that will continue programmatic growth and a focus on growing the school’s endowment.
The Time Is Now: The Campaign for Archbishop Spalding High school provides a blueprint for strategic growth. Yes, bricks and mortar are a part of this campaign, but its focus is what we teach and how we teach it. We are preparing students for college majors and jobs that don’t look like they used to, especially in the engineering sector. We are tasked with providing space that supports learning, teamwork, and critical questioning.
We must also focus efforts to grow the school’s endowment so that it provides an alternative revenue stream for tuition assistance, professional education for faculty and capital expenses.
I invite you to learn more about the school’s plans. I ask that you make Archbishop Spalding High School a giving priority. And, I ask that you pray for us as we do for you.
