Archbishop Spalding co-ed Cross Country Camps are an opportunity for runners aged 10 - 18 to train and cultivate their running skills in a positive, fun, and encouraging environment. Whether a beginner runner or experienced, campers will receive daily instruction on best practices. Runners will have two different opportunities. The first is a more traditional camp experience for beginner to intermediate runners who are looking to understand the sport through training runs/workouts, games, team-building activities, and informative speakers on proper diet, core, and collegiate runner experience. This camp is ideal for ages 10 - 15 years old. In middle school or a rising Freshman who is contemplating joining the Cross Country team in the fall. This camp will be from 8:00 am to 11:30 am, Monday through Thursday. The Second opportunity is for intermediate to experienced runners who are serious about running and anticipate competing in the upcoming cross-country season. Campers will engage in specific training that will prepare them for the Cross Country season this fall. This camp will introduce advanced topics such as VDOT O2 and Periodization training. Weekly workout plans will be provided. New topics will be introduced each week. Since the purpose of the camp is to prepare the student-athlete for the fall season, a multi-week discount is included. Ideal for ages 13 - 18 years old and who are planning on competing this fall.
Both camp opportunities are run by our experienced Cross Country coaches, Coach Brian Houdek and Coach Keith Leadbetter, with over 10 years of coaching experience. Feel free to contact us with any questions about the best camp to attend.
