• 2024-2025 Winter Sports Tryout Information

  ALL students interested in trying out for a winter season sport must complete the Athlete Registration Form.  Students will need to complete this form using their school email address (parents will NOT be able to complete this on behalf of their student).
  
  

  Additionally, any student who wishes to participate in athletics at Spalding must have the below information completed annually in their Magnus Health Account before attending pre-season workouts or tryouts.
  
  1. Vital Health Record

  2. Annual physical completed by parent & physician on Spalding Physical Form

  3. Medication Authorization Form (if applicable)

  4. Asthma, Allergy, Diabetes, Seizure plan (if applicable)

   

  All forms must be uploaded directly to the Magnus Health Account - paper or emailed copies will not be accepted. Magnus Uploading Instructions 

  
  Tryout dates, times, and locations for each winter sport will be posted below as that information becomes available.  
  
  Boys Ice Hockey (email: boysicehockey@spaldinghs.org)
  

  Tryouts begin Tuesday, October 15th from 3:20-5:50pm at Piney Orchard Ice Rink.  October 15h ice times will be divided by grade with 11th & 12th graders on ice from 3:20-4:30pm.  9th & 10th graders are on ice from 4:40-5:50pm.  All athletes will be on the ice together for remainder of the week.  Ice time is as follows: October 16th (3:20-4:20pm) - October 17th (3:20-4:20pm) - October 18th (3:20-5:10pm)

  Tryouts begin on Wednesday, October 16th at Piney Orchard Ice Arena from 4:40-5:50pm.  Please arrive by 3:40pm to check in and register.   In addition to school athletic participation requirements listed above, all new and returning players should complete the Girls Ice Hockey Registration Form.

  Tuesday, October 22 & Thursday, October 24th from 3:30-5:00pm in the Auxiliary Gym.  Updated 10/18/24 - Due to the girls volleyball home playoff game on 10/22, the first day of tryouts will be moved to an outdoor location.  Please dress appropriately for the weather & meet in Room 118 at 3:30pm on Tuesday, 10/22.

  Tryouts will be held November 4th, 5th, and 6th.  Varsity tryouts will be held from 3:00-5:00pm.  JV tryouts will be held from 5:00-7:00pm.

  Practices start Monday, November 4th from 8:00-9:15pm at North Arundel Pool.  Time Trials will be held on November 5th, 6th, & 7th.

  Tryouts begin Monday, November 4th in the main gym.  9th & 10th graders are expected to attend from 3:00-4:30pm.  11th & 12th graders are expected to attend from 4:30-6:30pm.

  Tryouts run November 4th, 5th, and 6th at the Y in Pasadena from 4:00-5:00pm. All days of tryouts are required.  Please see the Girls Swimming Team Page for mandatory meeting and qualifying times.
