About Spalding Field Hockey Camp

The camps are designed to build a strong foundation in fundamentals by focusing on individual skills and drills, along with opportunities to incorporate these new skills in game situations by focusing on teamwork and game strategies.

Two Sessions

Fundamental Day Camp: 9:00 am -12:30 pm (entering grades 1-8)

A great camp for all skill levels, our focus will be on the fundamentals while offering each player, from the beginner to the more advanced, the proper instruction and opportunities to improve their field hockey game. Campers will be grouped according to age and ability.

Next Level Evening Camp: 6-8:30 pm (Entering grades 7-9)

Designed for more experienced players, the Evening Camp will utilize the same drills and small game situations our varsity program uses on a daily basis. The camp will emphasize stick work as well as technical and tactical aspects of the game, improving their overall skill, field awareness, and decision making. Strength and conditioning will be incorporated along with daily tournament play to provide campers an opportunity to compete and give them the confidence and skills to take their game to the “next level.”

Camp Director

At the helm of one of the premier field hockey programs in the region with a rich winning tradition, Leslee Brady enters her 29th season as head coach of the Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers. Coach Brady ranks as one of Spalding’s all-time winning coaches with over 300 wins and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2014.

Consistently ranked in The Baltimore Sun during Brady’s tenure, the Cavaliers have produced numerous All-County, All-Metro and All-State selections.  In addition to these honors, Coach Brady has been selected as Coach of the Year on six separate occasions. The Cavaliers success on the field is equally matched in the classroom, with many of their players selected to this year’s National All-Academic Squad.
