• 2025-2026 Winter Sports Tryout Information

  9/26/2025
  Prior to October 20th, ALL students interested in trying out for a winter sport must complete the Athlete Registration Form.  Students will need to complete this form using their school email address (parents will NOT be able to complete this on behalf of their student).  This form only needs to be completed once per school year.
  
  

  Additionally, any student who wishes to participate in athletics at Spalding must have the below information completed annually in their Augusts Schools Health Account.
  
  

  1. Annual physical completed by parent & physician on Spalding Physical Form

  2.  Immunization Form (required for incoming freshmen & transfers only)
  3.  Medication Authorization Form (if applicable)

  4.  Asthma, Allergy, Diabetes, Seizure plan (if applicable)

   

  All forms must be uploaded directly to the August Schools Health Account which can be accessed through your parent portal - paper or emailed copies will not be accepted.  Required Health Forms Uploading Instructions 
  
  

  Tryout dates, times, and locations for each winter sport will be posted below as that information becomes available.  
  
  

  November 3rd - MIAA & IAAM Sports Tryout Start Date

  Tryouts will begin on Monday, November 3rd in the Auxiliary Gym. 
  
  Boys Swimming (email: boysswimming@spaldinghs.org)
  

  Tryouts and time trials will be held at North Arundel Aquatic Center beginning Monday, November 3rd from 7:45-9:00pm.  Time trials will be held on Tuesday, November 4th and Wednesday, November 5th.

  Tryouts begin on Monday, November 3rd in the Main Gym.  All returning Varsity athletes, juniors, and seniors will practice from 5:00-7:00pm.  Freshman and sophomores will practice from 7:00-9:00pm.

  Due to the anticipated number of student athletes interested in girls swimming, we are looking for minimum qualifying times during tryouts/time trials in order to stay in line with our current program standards.  You can find those times below for a guideline.  All days of tryouts are required.

  100 Back - 1:15

  100 Breast - 1:26

  11/10 4:15 to 5:30

  11/13 4:15 to 5:30

  11/14 3:15 to 4:30

  11/17 4:15 to 5:30

  11/18 3:10 to 4:15

  11/20 4:15 to 5:30

  11/21 3:15 to 4:30

  
  All athletes need to warm up in long tights or warm-up pants no matter the outside temperature. If the weather is under 65 degrees, athletes also need to warm up in a long sleeve shirt or hoodie/jacket. Shorts can be worn underneath warm up pants. Running shoes are required. Running spikes should not be purchased until after cuts are made and the team is announced. Team announcement will be made 11/22

  
  All student-athletes who are still playing a Spalding fall sport, but would like to try out for indoor track and field, need to send an email with their first and last name, fall sport, and fall sport end date to trackandfield@spaldinghs.org in order to arrange alternative tryout sessions.
