College Counseling

Class of 2020-  Please click here to watch the Senior Parent/Student College Presentation.  Most seniors will need high school transcripts and teacher/counselor recommendations sent out to colleges this fall.  We have a detailed and efficient process in the college counseling office with our own steps and deadlines that students must follow, it is all outlined in this 20-minute presentation.  Students must set up an appointment with Mrs. Mathis to see their college counselor one month before their first college deadline, which is November 1st for most students.  We will also be presenting this information to all the seniors in a classroom setting during the first two weeks of school.

Most students will be using the Common Application to apply to some of their colleges, this account must be linked to their Maia account.  Here is a video showing how to  Link Common App and Maia Accounts .

The College Questionnaire and the Parent Brag Sheet are two surveys in Maia that need to be completed before a senior can request transcripts and recommendations be sent to colleges.  These surveys greatly aid us in writing a student's overall recommendation, which is required by most colleges.  They can be found on the dashboard page when students first log in to Maia by clicking on the blue circular button to the left of 'Survey.'  Please have these completes as soon as possible, they were due on July 1st.

Application Workshops will continue throughout the fall every Tuesday from 2:45PM to 4:00PM in the Mac Lab room 220.  Students should sign up in Maia under College Visits.
