  • Application

    A complete application file will include:
    • Online Application for Admission
    • Records from grade 6 up through most recent report card (any standardized testing, attendance and discipline records should be included)
    • Academic Recommendation form (Not required of students attending a school in the Archdiocese of Baltimore)
    • Student Essay- an open ended essay about why the student wants to attend Spalding. The essay is built into the online Application for Admission
    • Photograph of student- uploaded into the online Application for Admission
    • $100 Application fee- paid by credit card when the application is submitted
    • Receipt of HSPT scores (Click here to register for the HSPT) 

    Applications to the Class of 2023 are due no later than December 14, 2018.

    Decision letters for the Class of 2023 will be mailed in mid-February. 
  • Application to Grades 10 or 11

    A complete application to transfer will include:
    • Online Application for Admission
    • Transcripts from the previous 3 years up to, and including, the most recent report card (standardized testing, attendance and discipline records included)
    • Two Academic Recommendation forms from teachers in major academic subjects (English, Math, Social Science or Science).  Other references (athletic, religious, community, etc.) are welcome but not required.
    • Student Essay- The essay is built into the online Application for Admission
    • Photograph of student - Uploaded into the online Application for Admission
    • $100 Application fee - Paid by credit card when the application is submitted
  • Personal Meetings / Interviews

    A personal meeting with an Admissions officer is required of all students applying to grade 10 or 11 (special accommodations can be made for out of state applicants). Interviews should be scheduled by the applicant after the Application for Admission has been submitted.  Meetings can be scheduled by calling or emailing the Admissions Office (410) 969-9105 ext. 232 or poiterj@spaldinghs.org
  • Records and Recommendations

    Students who do not attend a school in the Archdiocese of Baltimore should submit our Request for Records form and Academic Recommendation form to their current school. Archbishop Spalding welcomes letters of endorsement from outside of the school as well (Pastors, Coaches, Activity moderators, Spalding families, etc.) While we only require one academic recommendation to complete a student's file, families are welcome to submit more than one. 

    This information is provided automatically by schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore once registration for the HSPT has been completed. 
  • Schedule a Student Visit

    We encourage students to arrange a visit to Archbishop Spalding High School by completing the online request formIf you do NOT receive an automatic reply after clicking "Submit", please contact the Admissions Office at (410) 969-9105 ext. 232
  • Scholarship Applications

    Academic scholarship candidates are notified of their eligibility following the HSPT (Admissions/Placement Test).  Leadership and Music scholarship applications are due by the Application for Admission deadline, December 14, 2018. 
  • Testing

    All applicants to grade 9 must sit for the Archdiocesan Admissions/Placement test (HSPT). Register here for the High School Placement Test.
     
    Applicants in middle/elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Washington take the test in their current school and can indicate Archbishop Spalding on the answer sheet to receive a copy of the results. Students testing in the Archdiocese of Washington will be charged an extra fee to have results sent to a school (only one school will be permitted) in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
  • Tuition Assistance Applications

    The deadline for incoming freshmen to apply for tuition assistance is the same as the deadline for Applications for Admission, December 14, 2018.  Late applicants to the wait-pool may still complete an application for assistance but understand that any tuition assistance is subject to the availability of funds.
