Mental Health First Aid Training for Parents - Sat, Nov 2 & 9, 8:30am-12:30pm. Training is free courtesy of the Parents' Association
The Counseling Office is again offering Youth Mental Health First Aid for parents which teaches how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This 8-hr training is the same one taught to ASHS teachers and staff and gives parents the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to their children and help them connect to appropriate care. It is the hope that parents will use Mental Health and First Aid as a tool similar to CPR.
This is an 8-hr certificate class but if both Saturday sessions cannot be attended, the information is free-standing. There will be a cap of 30 participants so register early through this link: https://signup.com/go/evaTiuz.
If you have any questions, please email Marcie Gibbons at firstname.lastname@example.org
