Summer Camp: Girls Basketball

About Spalding Girls Basketball Camp

The Archbishop Spalding girls’ basketball program offers a weeklong basketball camp for aspiring basketball players to work on their basketball fundamentals in a safe, friendly environment under the instruction of the Archbishop Spalding coaching staff and current varsity team members. The week is designed to be FUN for players while they learn and practice all aspects of the game. Campers will then put their skills to work in competitions, live game play, and other fun activities.

Camp Director

For over 25 years, the game of basketball has played a significantly positive role in Coach Aanika O’Connor’s life. From playing AAU in her youth to winning multiple County Championships in high school in her Junior and Senior years to playing collegiately at Bowie State University. The past 25 years have fostered a passion for the game, providing tremendous experiences, opportunities, and relationships for her, both on and off the court.

Shortly after graduating from college, she started her coaching career. Since 2011, she and her staff have led student-athletes to success on and off the court, including sending student-athletes to over 25 colleges and universities across the country. But coaching is more profound than “X’s” and “O’s” for her. She is committed to the overall well-being of the young ladies she coaches, both on and off the court, which has led to life-long relationships with players, parents, and community members.
